Web3 and privacy-focused web browser Brave Browser has integrated the Cardano blockchain into its native and standalone wallets. The partnership between Brave Browser and Cardano development firm Input Output has resulted in Cardano integration into the Brave Wallet, allowing access to the Cardano blockchain and token management. Brendan Eich, CEO of Brave and Basic Attention Token (BAT), highlighted the benefits of this integration in terms of security, governance participation, and user experience. The addition of Cardano support expands the multi-chain access for users of the Brave Browser and standalone wallet. Robert Roose, founder of Cardano interoperability protocol Mynth, praised the integration as a significant step towards making Cardano more widespread and interoperable, providing users with easy access to Cardano’s blockchain and decentralized applications through the browser. Brave already supports Ethereum and Solana blockchains, with plans to support Midnight, a Cardano sidechain developed by Shielded Technologies. Input Output CEO Charles Hoskinson envisions free transactions for NFT ticket holders on the network. Mynth’s Roose emphasized that Midnight extends Cardano’s capabilities by offering privacy-focused, interoperable cross-chain swaps. The partnership between Brave Browser and Input Output hints at more innovations in engaging with Cardano’s governance and Midnight. The development of Midnight follows Cardano’s ecosystem expansion with the introduction of a software toolkit for deploying custom-built sidechains. This collaboration marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between the two firms, promising further developments in the future.
