In a shocking incident in Paris, the daughter and grandson of Pierre Noizat, the CEO of French crypto exchange Paymium, thwarted a kidnapping attempt by three masked men. The assailants tried to force Noizat’s daughter and her son into a waiting van in Paris’ 11th district. Despite the male partner being assaulted, Noizat’s daughter managed to resist, taking a gun from one of the attackers and throwing it away. Passersby intervened, prompting the assailants to flee in a van later found nearby. The victims sustained injuries and were hospitalized. The failed kidnapping is under investigation by the French Ministry of the Interior. Crypto exchange Plasbit’s CEO, Michael Englander, warned against flaunting wealth online, citing the dangers faced by high-profile individuals in the industry. This incident is part of a trend of offline attacks on crypto figures, with recent cases including a $4 million crypto robbery in Las Vegas and a €7 million kidnapping plot in Paris. The rise in offline crypto-related crime has prompted concerns and calls for heightened security measures within the industry.
