“Tether AI to Enable Bitcoin and USDT Payments Through P2P Network, CEO Reveals Expansion in Artificial Intelligence”

Tether AI, the upcoming artificial intelligence platform from stablecoin giant Tether, is set to support payments in major cryptocurrencies like USDT and Bitcoin. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino recently hinted at the imminent launch of Tether AI on May 5, describing it as a platform offering “personal infinite intelligence.” Ardoino revealed that Tether’s AI platform will facilitate USDt and BTC payments, enabling direct transactions through a peer-to-peer network. This development follows Tether’s December 2024 announcement of working on a website for the AI tool, targeting a release by the end of the first quarter of 2025. Ardoino emphasized that Tether AI will operate without API keys or centralized control points, running on an open-source AI runtime within an unstoppable peer-to-peer network. Furthermore, Tether AI will be adaptable to any hardware or device. The platform will integrate P2P crypto payments utilizing the open-source wallet development kit (WDK) launched in November 2024, enabling self-custodial holding of USDT and Bitcoin. Tether’s expansion into AI with Tether AI is part of its broader strategy, which included company restructuring in April 2024 to introduce divisions beyond stablecoin development, such as Tether Data, focused on AI and P2P development. Ardoino also announced earlier this year that Tether’s AI division was working on various AI applications. The ultimate goal of Tether AI is to establish a strong technological foundation to realize the vision of AI as described by Isaac Asimov, a renowned science fiction author known for his works on AI. Ardoino believes that AI will play a significant role in shaping the future.
