Ahmedabad, India has been grappling with soaring temperatures this month, experiencing 17 days with temperatures hitting 40C so far. The mercury levels fluctuated between 37.8C and 43.3C in early April. Although Sunday saw a slight dip in the maximum temperature, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a further rise in the coming days. Parts of Gujarat continue to be under a Yellow Alert, highlighting the severity of the heatwave. Local physicians have noted a surge in heat-related illnesses, urging residents to drink plenty of water and shield themselves from direct sunlight to prevent heatstroke and dehydration.
