RBI hikes ATM transaction fees by Rs 2, limits free transactions to five per month from May 2025.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) recently announced a revision in the fee structure for ATM and Cash Recycler Machine transactions, with an increase of Rs 2 per transaction. The new charges will come into effect from May 1, 2025. Under the updated guidelines, customers will now be entitled to five free transactions per month at their own bank’s ATMs. However, additional free transactions at other bank ATMs will be limited and based on the location of the transaction.
