Where are the two new cinemas?
Ajay Devgn’s cinema chain Devgn CineX has opened multiplexes in Gurugram, Haryana, and Rajkot, Gujarat. The chain announced the openings on its company page. Moneycontrol and Bollywood Hungama separately reported the expansion on November 6, listing a capacity of 574 seats at each property.
The Gurugram cinema is at Vista Square Mall in Sector 82A. Bollywood Hungama reports that the property includes a 55-foot screen. The Rajkot cinema is at Marvel Plus Mall in Mavdi, where one of its five auditoriums is equipped with Dolby Atmos sound. The two addresses refer to separate sites in the same expansion. The Gurugram opening extends the chain’s reach within the National Capital Region.
[1][2]What will audiences find at the venues?
Bollywood Hungama reported that the chain has installed recliners throughout the auditoriums and plans to let audiences use QR codes at their seats to order food and drinks. Both reports describe the additions as part of the brand’s premium exhibition business, which combines cinema screens with in-house food service.
Moneycontrol also reported that the Gurugram property offers a multicuisine menu. The in-seat ordering feature gives patrons another way to order refreshments from within the auditorium.
[1][2]How do the openings fit the wider expansion?
The two sites follow earlier multiplex announcements in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, Moneycontrol reported. Both publications put the chain’s reported footprint at 60 screens across 20 properties in 19 locations and said the company had a further 30 screens in its plans for the year. The two new venues show how the exhibitor is expanding in different markets at the same time, adding a location in the National Capital Region alongside its new cinema in Gujarat.
