Kangana Ranaut will lead Scary Picture, a Hindi horror film directed by Ravi Babu and produced by Rana Daggubati. News24 and Times Now Navbharat report that Daggubati unveiled the project at HorrorCon India in New Delhi during the Halloween weekend. News24 dates the announcement to October 31.
According to News24, Ranaut subsequently shared a video of the announcement on Instagram. The confirmed combination brings together Ranaut as the lead actor, Daggubati on the production side and Ravi Babu as director. The announcement identifies their roles in the project; it does not establish a release date.

Scary Picture is being presented as Ravi Babu’s first Hindi feature as a director, following his work in Telugu cinema. Deccan Chronicle names Anasuya and Avunu among his earlier films, which explored thriller and horror elements. His Hindi debut therefore follows an existing body of directing work rather than marking his first film behind the camera.
For Ranaut, the project returns her to a genre she has visited before. Deccan Chronicle points to Raaz: The Mystery Continues, released in 2009, and the Tamil film Chandramukhi 2, released in 2023. Those earlier appearances provide background to the casting announcement, rather than indicating a story connection between the films.
