The Delhi High Court has granted permission to Baramulla Lok Sabha MP Engineer Rashid, who was arrested in connection with a terror-funding case in 2017, to participate in the current Parliament session while in custody. Rashid, who emerged victorious as an Independent candidate, will be escorted back to Tihar Jail after each day’s proceedings in Parliament until April 4. The MP has been incarcerated since 2019 on allegations related to providing support to militants based in Pakistan. This ruling allows Rashid to fulfill his parliamentary duties amidst his legal troubles.
