XRP Futures Open Interest Surges 32% Amid Tug-of-War – Analysts Bullish Despite Neutral Sentiment

XRP has experienced a 25% increase since April 7, with its open interest surging by 32%. Despite hitting a year-to-date low of $1.61 on April 7, XRP has shown significant growth over the past two weeks as the overall crypto market has rebounded and XRP open interest has seen a substantial increase. The altcoin’s open interest spiked from $3.14 billion to $4.13 billion between April 21 and 23, indicating a resurgence in derivatives traders. Although the surge in futures open interest typically suggests a bullish sentiment, data from Velo revealed a different perspective. The negative aggregated premium on open interest highlighted a continued bid against a rise in XRP’s price. The funding rate remaining near 0 signified a neutral stance between bullish and bearish sentiments. The aggregated spot tape cumulative volume delta turned positive in April, indicating a rise in buying pressure. Despite the growing interest in futures, the data suggests that XRP’s price is currently facing conflicting forces from bullish spot market activity and bearish perpetual futures. Sistine Research, a crypto investment community, has made a bold prediction for XRP, forecasting a long-term target between $33 and $50 based on historical patterns. The current price of XRP stands at $2.23 with a market cap of $131 billion, and the potential target of $33 could significantly impact the market cap. From a technical analysis perspective, XRP is showing an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern, potentially testing resistance levels between $2.50 and $2.67. While the RSI indicator suggests a potential pause in price movement due to nearing overbought territory, the overall outlook remains optimistic for XRP’s future growth.
