Jacqueline Fernandez joins Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli in a cameo

Nayyi Navelli opens in cinemas with a Jacqueline Fernandez appearance, reuniting her with Yami Gautam after their earlier horror comedy Bhoot Police.

A release-day addition to the cast

Jacqueline Fernandez makes a special appearance in Nayyi Navelli, the Yami Gautam Dhar-led horror comedy that opened in cinemas on October 16. Bollywood Hungama’s release-day report identifies her part as a brief cameo, while NDTV’s independently written review also lists Fernandez among the film’s cast.

The appearance brings Fernandez and Gautam together again after Bhoot Police, their 2021 horror comedy. Fenil Seta’s report for Bollywood Hungama says the new appearance lasts only a few minutes. The central role in Nayyi Navelli remains Gautam’s, with Fernandez joining the ensemble for a short stretch of the story.

The family at the heart of Nayyi Navelli

Directed by Balaji Mohan, the film is set in Meerut and follows Mohini, played by Gautam, as she marries into the Awasthi family. Addinath M Kothare plays Raja Awasthi, her husband. Raja’s brother Bantu, portrayed by Anurag Thakur, becomes convinced that the family’s new arrival is a daayan.

That suspicion supplies the supernatural conflict within the household. The supporting cast includes Sunita Rajwar and Mita Vashisht, whose names also appear in NDTV’s release-day coverage. Fernandez’s presence is another cast detail to watch for, rather than a change to the film’s principal pairing or its Meerut setting.

The team behind the theatrical release

Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma have produced Nayyi Navelli under Colour Yellow, with Amazon MGM Studios presenting it. Sharma is credited with the story, while Divy Nidhi Sharma wrote the screenplay. NDTV identifies G V Prakash Kumar as the composer of the songs and background score.

For viewers considering the new release, the confirmed picture is a family-centred horror comedy led by Gautam, with Fernandez making a smaller appearance. The cameo report reveals her involvement without requiring the details of her sequence or the film’s later twists to be given away.
