When is Mohra returning to cinemas?

Mohra is due to return to cinemas on November 6, but director Rajiv Rai is describing a small repeat run rather than a major nationwide launch. In a new interview with Variety India, he confirmed the date and said the 1994 film would use theatres available alongside Ramayana.

The distinction matters for viewers planning to revisit the Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon film. A release date does not mean every city or cinema chain will show it. Rai told Variety India that audience demand had encouraged the return, while making clear that he did not regard the release as competition for the new film.

Which cinemas are expected to show it?

Speaking separately to Bollywood Hungama, Rai outlined a limited single-screen circuit. He said Mohra would move through different centres over approximately six months, rather than open everywhere at once. He also said there might not be a Mumbai cinema showing it.

Rai ruled out PVR and other multiplex chains in that interview, citing their ticket prices and virtual print fees. His stated approach is to keep an older film circulating through smaller centres, allowing receipts to accumulate over time. He cautioned that repeat runs do not routinely generate large business.

For audiences, local cinema schedules will therefore be more useful than assuming a multiplex booking will appear on the announced date. Rai’s description points to staggered availability; it does not establish a confirmed city-by-city timetable.

Does the return mean a sequel is confirmed?

No sequel announcement accompanies the re-release. Asked about the possibility by Variety India, Rai said he was open to considering a continuation if the actors and an appropriate story came together. He also said he had not written a new version of Mohra.

That leaves two different prospects: a dated return for the existing film, and an uncommitted possibility of another story. His comments about what a continuation might involve should not be treated as confirmation of casting, production or a release date.
