Prabhas’s Spirit moves to October 29, 2027 for Diwali release

Spirit moves to October 29, 2027

Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit has a new worldwide theatrical release date: October 29, 2027. The director announced the change on October 18 alongside a fresh promotional image, The Times of India reported. The cop action drama had previously been scheduled for March 5, 2027.

Vanga used his X account to share the revised worldwide date, alongside a new promotional image showing Prabhas wearing a cap and dark glasses. The announcement confirms a delay of nearly eight months from the earlier March schedule.

The Diwali window brings a possible Ramayana overlap

The Indian Express reported that Ramayana Part 2 had already been announced for Diwali 2027. However, the newspaper said its makers had not specified an exact release date. Spirit therefore enters the same announced festival window, while a same-day theatrical clash remains unconfirmed.

That distinction matters when reading the release-calendar headlines. Spirit has an exact new date; Ramayana Part 2 has a festival window. Further official scheduling announcements would be needed to establish whether the two films actually open together.

Prabhas and Vanga’s first film together

The Times of India described Spirit as the first collaboration between Prabhas and Vanga. Its reported cast includes Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi and Prakash Raj. The newspaper described the project as a cop action drama but said fuller plot and character details had not been disclosed.

Vanga’s earlier films include Arjun Reddy, its Hindi remake Kabir Singh, and Animal, The Times of India noted. Spirit pairs the director with Prabhas for the first time. The casting information accompanies a project whose full narrative is still being kept under wraps.

T-Series production and the earlier schedule

The Indian Express identified Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series as the producer, a connection the film shares with Vanga’s Animal. The earlier Spirit announcement had carried the March 5 release date; the latest post replaces that date with October 29. The cited reports do not establish a reason for the postponement.
