Ramayana Part One confirms November 5 release and Dussehra bookings

Ramayana: Part One confirms a worldwide November 5 release, with advance bookings opening on Dussehra and the second instalment planned for Diwali 2027.

November 5 date confirmed by the makers

Ramayana: Part One will open in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026, its makers announced on Sunday, October 11. The team also confirmed that advance bookings will begin on Dussehra, giving audiences a booking milestone ahead of the theatrical release.

The Indian Express and The Times of India separately reported the announcement, which appeared on Instagram alongside a new ensemble poster. It was presented on the first day of Navratri and specified a release across premium formats.

A clarification after competing dates

The Times of India reports that the international trailer distributed by Sony Pictures had previously carried November 6 as the worldwide date. Producer Namit Malhotra had also spoken about a Diwali release in India. Sunday’s announcement now specifies November 5 for the worldwide opening.

The update therefore supplies a confirmed date from the production team after those earlier signals. Advance-booking access begins separately on Dussehra; it should not be confused with the day the film opens in theatres.

Cast, languages and the second instalment

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film casts Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman. The Indian Express also lists Arun Govil, Indira Krishna, Lara Dutta, Sonal Jha and Sheeba Chaddha among the supporting cast.

Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios is making the film with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Releases are planned in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, including IMAX and other premium formats. Sony Pictures will distribute it outside India, while Dharma Productions handles the Hindi-speaking Indian market.

This is the first instalment of a two-part adaptation. The second film remains scheduled for Diwali 2027, according to both reports.
